With January 2024 less than 4 months away, I decided to kick off a career series on September 28th. The first episode in this series will focus on an industry in which several people I know have a heart - the music industry. I have some "heavy hitters" in my circle who have been part of the success of several artists in different ways... Ms. Shaila Scott is a legendary NYC Media/Radio personality (by the way, NYC is the biggest radio market in the country according to the 2023 Nielson audio ratings). Also known as New York's Sweetheart, Shaila started her career as a radio personality with 93.7 WBLK FM (Buffalo, NY). Many people will remember Shaila during her time with 98.7 Kiss FM and 107.5 WBLS FM (NYC). Today, you can find Shaila on 94.7 FM “The Block” (NYC). She is also a voice-over artist and podcaster and the Executive Director of the Sisterly Kiss Entertainment Foundation. Mr. Thomas Lytle is the Former Vice President of Promotions with the Island Def Jam Music Group. He was instrumental in propelling the careers of Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, Ludacris, LL Cool J, Rihanna, Rick Ross, and Young Jeezy. Although Thomas is officially retired from Corporate America, he has returned to his music "roots" as DJ E.B.O.N.Y. (Easy Brothers of New York), where you can hear him "spin" at various events in the NC area and 100HipHopAndRNB.FM.
